Mentorship is part of the Mackinac Dells Two certification program and is available only to students who have completed the required coursework, including exploring the equine hoof, navigating the hoof in front of you, Beginner trimming and intermediate trimming. Mentorship focuses on applying existing knowledge to the horse in front of you and is an entry level learning opportunity
Mentorship includes hands-on, in-person experience where you join me in servicing my existing clients, observing and participating in trimming, assessing hoof balance and hoof wear patterns, determining what services the horse may need, and when appropriate applying glue on shoes, casting or fitting horses for hoof boots. Alternatively I can join the mentee at their location but travel expense would be added to the $175 per day mentorship fee. The focus is on applying skills in real situations, learning assessment, trimming decisions, and practical hoof care techniques under direct guidance
